Public transport funding methods and amounts vary widely across Europe, reflecting different domestic priorities and differing economic environments. In France, this funding appears to be structurally fragile, with the challenge residing mainly in the State consolidating its share in urban and regional mobility authorities’ business models so that they can finance their investments and operating expenses. This talk takes a look at the funding mechanisms and schemes used by our European neighbours.
